meaning: "passages that deal with a single theme or idea, as in poetry"
(and not the more widely used definition: "a long, vehement speech"...i never give those ;)
an exerpt from "The Mindscape of Alan Moore"
"Quitting my day job and starting my life as a writer certainly was a tremendous risk. It was a fool's leap, a shot in the dark. But anything of value in our lives- whether it be a career, a work of art, a relationship- will always start with such a leap. And in order to be able to make it, you have to put aside the fear of failing and the desire of succeeding. You have to do these things completely purely without fear, without desire. Because things that we do without lust or result, are the purest actions that we shall ever undertake."

my first quilt!
So after months in the making, I am finally dreaming sweet dreams beneath my very own self-made blanket...
Like they say "A Jack of all trades is a master of none". Well, luckily the only thing I'm trying to master is the art of being myself. For me, moving forward on a quest for "self-mastery" requires that I do more than just put all of my flax seeds into one lonely basket. I find the best strategy is to throw them around, far and wide, and see what grows...I am by no means 100% fearless in the act of sowing, but as I happily age I can feel thin layers of old fears drop away while I deepen my affinity for the world beneath the world...
